Lessons 4 Fun, NYC was founded by Nelly Odessa in July 2007, with the mission of offering opportunities to the people of New York (and the tri-state area) to try something new and exciting, to learn new skills, to explore their creativity in a safe environment, to meet new people, and much much more...all while having a ton of fun.
Lessons 4 Fun:

The Teachers:

Nelly Odessa [ACTING]
Nelly Odessa is a professional actress and acting teacher. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Lesson 4 Fun Studio and has been teaching the studio's most popular class "Acting for Non-Actors" since July 2007. Ms. Odessa has studied a variety of acting techniques and styles, and has worked in theatre, commercials, film and television; her performances have been acclaimed by The New York Times, N.Y. Daily News, and Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

Carmela Sinco [SINGING]
Carmela Sinco is a composer, collaborative pianist, music director and educator in the New York City area. As a collaborative pianist and music director, Ms. Sinco has worked in various musical theater and operatic productions, cabaret and vocal concerts in Europe, Asia and in the USA. As a composer, her credits include having composed and produced the music for documentary film and television series aired on PBS, CUNY TV, various local stations and film festivals in the USA and abroad. Classically-trained, she has also composed works on commission by musicians of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Her most recent commission was a one-act opera, Raya and Sag-In, with music, story and libretto by Ms. Sinco, had its world premiere production in NYC in 2009. As an educator, Ms. Sinco has worked with students of all levels and ages privately, semi-privately and in classes throughout the tri-state area, addressing her students’ goals and aspirations be they professional or simply for enjoyment and fun.

Michelle Timmons [DANCE]
Michelle Timmons is a dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher. She holds a B.F.A. in Ballet and is currently working toward a M.A. degree in Performance Studies at New York University. Michelle has performed professionally with Contemporary Ballet Dallas and the Genesis Dance Collective, and has worked with choreographers such as Fernando Bujones, Li-Chou Cheng, Elizabeth Gillaspy, and Christian Von Howard. Regional theater credits include Oklahoma! and Beauty and the Beast (Casa Mañana), Texas Legacies, and the Mary Kay Industrial Show. Her choreography has been presented at Dance New Amsterdam, Regional Dance America, the Barefoot Brigade Festival, and Dallas Dance for the Planet. Michelle has served as the resident choreographer for Stars Theater Co., as an adjunct dance faculty member at TCU, and as a freelance writer for the DANCE magazine of Dallas.

Charles Forbes [PLAYWRITING]
Charles is a published and produced playwright living in NYC. His most recent work includes Us @ 80 (Actors Theatre of Louisville,) The Humidity of Fish (Backstage Best Playwriting of ’03,) Stirring (59E59/Edinburgh Fringe Festival,) Courting Prometheus (Actors Theatre of Louisville, Samuel French) and his newly-completed, The Full Ginsberg. Last summer, Charles’ minor gods opened Off-Broadway as part of Arielle Tepper’s Summer Play Festival, after receiving its first public reading at The Kennedy Center’s Page-to-Stage Festival and developmental grant from Lincoln Center Theatre’s Directors’ Lab. He has also served as a writer/producer on several television series. Charles is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
